Why I joined the Jamaica Mission Team...
After working with the youth of St. Mark's for the past 10 years, I wanted the opportunity to reconnect with some of our youth that have graduated. Sierra Service Project has played such an instrumental role in the faith development of many of our youth, having a mission trip geared specifically for young adults seemed to be a natural fit for our church. My hope for this trip is that it will provide the spiritual nourishment that SSP provided, while presenting a whole new challenge in working with a new culture.
I'm so excited by the group that is going on our trip. The talents and enthusiam that each of them bring will surely make this a memorable trip. My ultimate goal is that this will ignite a passion for ministry for our young adult community and it will become an annual tradition, just as SSP has become for our youth.
