November 13, 2018

Greetings St. Mark’s,

This upcoming Sunday, November 18th, marks the end of our stewardship campaign and I will be preaching on the final part of the campaign theme: “More, Please.”

We have been learning throughout the few weeks that fulfillment and abundance comes into our lives by practicing the three parts of the theme: “Happy, Thank You, More Please.” We begin with contentment (not scarcity and as Rev. Jeri preached, we put an end to our “if-then” thinking. Only if I have this, then I’ll finally be happy.) We begin knowing that God has given us so many blessings in our lives and we do not take them for granted. This then moves us on to “Thank You.” We
practice gratefulness for everything, we are aware of all of God’s
blessings in our lives and we cherish them all. But it does not end there. We humans are growth-seeking beings. It is our nature to constantly grow, learn and evolve. So we keep asking for “more please.” These three parts must exist as a trinity to create vibrant lives.

Where are you asking for “more, please” in your personal life, our church and the world?

At the end of the service, you will be invited to come up to the altar with your pledge cards to support all of the ministries of 2019. As I
mentioned in the most recent stewardship letter, take a bold step and put a number on the pledge card that makes you slightly uncomfortable and challenged.Or, if you’re starting to pledge for the very first time, just put an amount that doesn’t scare you but is a small commitment you can easily follow through with.

I also encourage you to fill out an automatic deduction form, which can be found on our website here: to fulfill your commitment effortlessly.

There will be cakes during coffee hour for us to celebrate the end of this important campaign.

I hope to see you there.

In this together,

Rev. Lydia
