The 6th annual CCSA Hunger Walk is scheduled for Saturday, April 24th at 8am. Our goal for St. Mark's is to have at least 35 walkers. If you have not already signed up, please meet at De Anza Cove at 7:30am for registration and join in the St. Mark's group picture.
Supporters and friends of CCSA gather each year and walk a designated course to raise awareness about the plight of poor and homeless in San Diego and to demonstrate CCSA’s commitment to these people’s needs. The primary goal of this event is to raise vital funds for programs that have served people for more than 35 years.
CCSA owes the positive result of each year’s Hunger Walk to its faithful supporters. Their ability to rally support and make donations to the mission of the Agency is truly responsible for the event’s success. Each year about 150-200 walkers.. or more complete the 4.2-mile course around the flat bayside sidewalks at Mission Bay. It is a fun gathering that reaps many benefits. Don’t miss being a part of this event!
We welcome all to participate in this annual worthwhile cause to help those in need in our communities. You too can make a difference in the lives of those not as fortunate as many of us are in fulfilling basic daily needs. Feed the hungry; Clothe the naked. This is a serious challenge for many in today’s inflated times. CCSA’s Hunger Walk is a small way to accomplish a big task. It doesn’t take much time but can have a very positive effect. Bring your family and friends and let them witness what being involved in a mission to help others is all about.

Walkers
Walkers need to be at the shelter at DeAnza Cove by 7:30 a.m. to register, join the picture to be taken of the St. Mark’s group, and do warm up exercises. Walkers also need to collect all your pledges, record the total, seal the envelope, and turn them in to Ed Ellis or one of his assistants Sunday, April 18, after worship. The city does not want any envelopes collected at the walk. Envelopes can also be turned in before or after the walk at CCSA’s Clairemont Service Center, 4167 Rappahannock Avenue. That’s the fourth house north of the church. This is CCSA’s big fund raiser – let’s make it a big success.
