Lenten Prayer Study (Post Banner)

By Carol Brown

Ash Wednesday and Lent are just around the corner. Many people choose to fast from a favorite food or add a special activity during the weeks of Lent. I invite you to join me, Carol Brown, for a five-week Lenten study on Centering Prayer.  Centering Prayer is silent, contemplative prayer where we hope to experience God’s presence within us. The study will begin Tuesday, February 16, at 1 PM in the New Room.  If you would like to be part of this study and this time is not good for you, let me know.  You can contact me at 858-836-1465.  Books are being ordered for you. Everyone is welcome.

Book Study

Whether you’ve been a United Methodist your entire life or just joined the church, here is an opportunity to go back to the roots of who WE are as we study BEING UNITED METHODIST, What It Means Why It Matters by J. Ellsworth Kalas. Kalas explores questions such as Who are these people called United Methodist? Where have they come from, and where are they going? What makes them tick, and in a spasmodically changing world, what keeps them ticking?

Come explore these questions and more as Rev. Jeri leads this book study on Wednesdays, May 1, 8, 15, and 22 at 1:00 PM. Please sign-up in the office. And for those who are unable to join the book study but want to read the book, please sign up and check the box Book Only and we will order one for you.
